Brawl Stars has just dropped its August 2026 Brawl Talk, and if you thought the June update was packed, you ain't seen nothing yet. Supercell seems to have mainlined a barrel of espresso and decided to overhaul the entire game while teaching you Spanish—well, maybe not that last part, but there is a very persistent green owl involved. From a controversial new unlock system to two bizarre new Mythic Brawlers, a Duolingo crossover, and enough skins to fill a mall, this update is a chaotic masterpiece. So grab a coffee mug (you'll need it for Vince) and let's dive into the madness.

The Great Brawler Blast-Off: Starr Road Is Dead, Long Live Randomness

In a move that has some players reaching for their pitchforks, Supercell is replacing the Starr Road with something called Brawler Blast. Instead of choosing which Brawler you want to unlock with Credits, you now collect Credits and then head to the Brawler Blast screen. There, you'll see random Brawlers from a specific rarity. Tap through the screen to reveal your prize—like a gacha game, but with more robots and fewer anime waifus. As you smash the Brawler cutouts, you also earn Gem Fragments, which boost the power of the Brawler you get. It's less "I want this one" and more "surprise, it's another Shelly!" But hey, at least it's exciting. Or infuriating. Depends on your luck.

Two New Mythic Brawlers: Cosmo and Vince

This update introduces two Mythic Brawlers, and they are wonderfully weird.

Cosmo is the smartest robot scientist in Starr Park and host of the Starr Park Observatory. He's part of a new trio. His basic attack fires projectiles that orbit around each other. The further apart they get, the bigger and more damaging they become. But his Super is the real showstopper: he launches a magnet that attaches to an enemy and attracts projectiles from you and your teammates. Imagine the chaos. Cosmo debuts in September.

Vince works at the Creepy Cafe, right next to Juju's Oddities Shop. Because of course there are bugs in a place called Creepy Cafe. Vince spawns caterpillars around himself, which transform into moths when he walks over them or shoots them. His basic attack is a simple coffee mug throw that deals extra damage to enemies affected by his Super. His Super unleashes all collected moths—the more moths, the stronger it is, with 20 being the max. Vince arrives in October 2026.

Duolingo Collab: The Owl Has Come to Collect

Yes, Duolingo's infamous green owl is coming to Brawl Stars. And no, you can't escape your language lessons even here. The collab introduces a new boss mode set inside Duo's classroom. The twist? You have to answer questions during the battle. Duo asks a question, and you must move to the area with the correct answer. Get it right, and you get a buff. Get it wrong, and you take damage or get eliminated. Nothing like learning Spanish under threat of a Shelly super to the face.

There's also a 20-player mode, a community event starting September 19, and even free Spike for those who participate. Duolingo will host its own event on the same day, so you can get cosmetics in both apps. Chaos Drops are also on the menu.

Hide and Seek (and Prop Hunt) Join the Chaos

Brawl Stars is adding a new Hide and Seek game mode. One player becomes the Seeker and must find and eliminate the other three. Once a round ends, another player gets a turn as Seeker, and this continues until everyone has had a go. It's like a deadly game of tag, but with more explosions.

There's also a Prop Hunt modifier that lets you become part of the scenery when you stand still—yes, like Mecha Chameleon. This mode will be available during the upcoming Brawl-O-Ween season.

Skins Galore: School, Spooks, and Community Creations

Supercell is not holding back on cosmetics. The September season brings two school themes: Royal Academy and Monster Academy. For Royal Academy, you get Principal Nani as a Brawl Pass skin, plus Head Teacher Nani and Queen Nani as chroma variations. On the Monster Academy side, Head Coach Hank is the other Brawl Pass, with Trainer Hank and Team Captain Hank as chromas. There's also Drum Major Najia, Academy Ollie, Academy Mandy, and Trash Goblin Darryl.

October brings back Brawl-o-Ween with a spooky collection. Fortune Teller P is a Brawl Pass skin, with Mr. Psychic P and Mystic as chromas. The second Brawl Pass skin is Cursed Shade, with Jolly Shade and Creepy Shade variations. Also included: Dr. Bellenstein, Bellenstein's Monster Piper, Flame Rider Chuck, and Terronaut Damian.

For the Moon Festival, there are two adorable skins: Moonlight Lola and Moonlight Eve.

And finally, the community concepts from Supercell MAKE are making their way into the game. We have Retro Kit by Lelezitoss, Jormungandr Doug by Abyss Lookout, Bone Collector Alli from GeckoArt, Twilight Queen Lily by Frankyyy, and Gravestone Griff by Vitaliy. Plus Xenomech Max, giving Max a futuristic alien makeover. Ghostly skins for some Buffies are also coming to the Shop, though for now only for the Gift Shop and Mortuary Trio.

Buffies and Hypercharges: More Power to the People

Buffies are getting some love, with new additions for the Poco Band Stand and Ghost Station Trio. The Brawlers receiving Buffies this time are Poco, El Primo, Amber, Gus, Chuck, and Shade.

Two new Hypercharges are also coming for recently released Brawlers:

  • Nori's Master Fisherman Hypercharge: You immediately get 10 fish counts and can knock enemies into the air when diving in with the Super.

  • Wendy's Green Energy Hypercharge: Improves your shield generator by increasing its health and allowing it to absorb even more damage.

Odds and Ends: Language, Respawns, and Rarity Renames

A few smaller changes are tagging along:

  • LatAm Spanish is being added as a new language option, so more players can enjoy Brawl Stars in their preferred tongue.

  • The invincibility period after respawning is getting a small tweak. Don't expect a huge difference.

  • The Ultra Legendary rarity is being renamed to just Ultra. Because why use two words when one will do?

The Bottom Line

The August 2026 Brawl Talk is a testament to Supercell's willingness to experiment—sometimes to the point of chaos. Between the Brawler Blast gamble, the Duolingo owl's reign of terror, and a Hide and Seek mode that will inevitably end friendships, there's a lot to digest. Whether you love it or hate it, one thing is certain: Brawl Stars in 2026 is never boring. So mark your calendars for September and October, stock up on gems, and maybe brush up on your Spanish. Duo is watching.
